MONTPELLIER URBAN LIVING LAB
Montpellier is an urban city in the south of France (near the sea) with more than 288,600 inhabitants. Capital of the Hérault department in the Occitanie Region, Montpellier is the third-largest French city near the Mediterranean coast and the seventh-largest city in the country.
Key Information
We will have to identify the risk factors of the urban environment related to physical health and mental health. Then, we will estimate the impact on health of living in an urban environment. Finally, we will provide prognostic markers of the effect of environmental stressors on physical and mental health and sleep quality using the EnvWAS approach which is adapted to this type of environment.
We aim to collect information on daily lifestyle using a gamified application that alerts to exposures that may alter health status (intervention) and then prevent risky exposures (such as road pollution).
The Challenge
The local challenge revolves around understanding the impact of the urban environment on both physical and mental health issues as well as on citizens’ well-being overall.
